I visited Scaleworld 2026 for the first time in Geel, Belgium, at the Thomas More University. It is organized by KMK, Kempense Modelbouw Klub.
There were so many amazing looking models on display, there is not enough time for me to photograph them all. Every single one contributed to a great event.
There were some WWII-era vehicles at the entrance of the Thomas More University. Always a welcome sight to see people preserve these vehicles and share them with the public.
Models made by clubs
I had a nice talk with the modelmaker of these South African (National) Defense Force scale models. These are unique, because the modelmaker had seen the vehicles himself and made many adjustments according to photographs. There are no model kits of the Ratel, so he built and kitbashed much of it himself.
The modelmaker told me that he customized this Tamiya Sd.Kfz. 222 to be an early type, by using the window hatches of an Sd.Kfz. 221 kit. I liked how the welds were done on the edges.
I was amazed by the work created by Hans Spruijt, the Green Baron. You should definitely check out his website to see more scale models he created.
The modelmaker of this cool Mercedes said you can see the Formula 1 safety car decals in the reflection of the mirror.

Models from the contest
These models participated in the contest. There are no names, only titles of the work.
This Trabant on a pole won the prize for being the most original model of the contest!
I also participated with my Gundam RX-178 Mk.II and won a bronze medal!
